To address the issue, Rivera said her office intends to intensify its information education and communication drive to reach out to the youth and explain the risks and problems that go with teenage pregnancies and early parenting.
The campaign, she said, will focus not only in schools but also in barangays
targeting teenage population who have left school to earn a living for their
families.
Presently, teams from her office and the city’s population office are
conducting fertility lectures among couples in various barangays and also on
responsible parenthood, she said.
Rivera warned that a young girl may not only have the right body constitution

teenage mother will also be constantly at risk.
“Dapat nating alalahanin, mahirap
maging teenage mother and teenage father,” she said and cautioned
