MBTF joins 9TH Mahaan Nagar Kirtan celebration

IN support of the culture and tradition of the Filipino-Indian community in the city, Mayor Belen T. Fernandez joined the celebration of the 9thMahaan Nagar Kirtan on December 1.
Mayor Fernandez personally took part in the ceremonial rites at the Guru Nanak Indian Sikh Temple before festivities were held through a Sikh parade festival in the downtown area. Celebrated yearly by the Dagupeño-Indian population, this year’s Mahaan Nagar Kirtan marks the 549th birth anniversary of their First Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji. (Verdelle De Vera/CIO)
