THE Dagupan City Sports Commission (DCSC), in partnership with the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Sports Institute, conducted a five-day sports science seminar for coaches and sports advisers at the CSI Stadia for Nov. 26 to 30.
The second sports science seminar was attended by 230 participants from public and private schools.

The seminar provided sports coaches to learn more about sports nutrition, strength and conditioning, sports physiology and first aid.
Philippine Sports Institute’s Regional Director Edwin Llanes said the seminar equipped the coaches with more information and skills on how to prepare their athletes for events and competitions.
“Sports training is scientific. There are a lot of factors going on in preparing our athletes such as their nutrition and physical and mental conditioning. In this seminar, our coaches will know different techniques other than just regular training,” added Llanes.
The city will defend its title as champion and best performing delegation in the next R1AA meet. (CIO/VdV)
