VILLASIS—An incumbent barangay kagawad in Villasis and five other persons were arrested in an anti-gambling operation conducted by the Villasis Police at 3:00 p.m. on June 10.

Arrested while playing “tong-its” in violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602 were Melchor Ninio, barangay kagawad of Poblacion Zone 1 in Villasis, Joel Javier, 49; Juanita Sibayan, 58; Salvi Alegria, 60; Genalyn Rosales, 51; and Hermis Marquez, 67.

The police confiscated two sets of playing cards and bet money amounting to P1,905 in different denominations from the suspects. (Leonardo Micua)
