Dagupan SP OKs 3 supplemental budgets
TO FUND MORE THAN 100 PROJECTS
THE Sangguniang Panlungsod last week (May 23) approved three Supplemental Annual Investment Plan (AIPs) and their respective supplemental budgets during a special session called by Mayor Belen Fernandez and attended by all 10 city councilors.
Approved were Supplementary AIP No. 1 and its corresponding Supplemental Budget No. 1; Supplemental AIP No. 1-A, and its Supplemental Budget No, 1-A; and Supplemental AIP No. 2 and its Supplemental Budget No. 2, all authored by Councilors Jeslito Seen, chairman on the committee on Finance.
Supplemental AIP No. 1, recommended by the City Development Council, identified eight community programs and projects that will be funded by Department of Health, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Trade and Industry, Health Facilities Enhancement Program, Local Government Support Fund and Performance Challenge Fund.
Supplemental AIP No.1A lists programs amounting to ₱165 million, of which ₱147 million will be sourced from the city’s revenue surplus and savings.
The amount will fund 106 projects, among them the procurement of penetrator fire truck for the Bureau of Fire Protection, development of Park and Plaza and Boat Terminal at A.B. Fernandez Avenue West, which includes the preservation and beautification of the remnants of the Franklin Bridge, fabrication of four units of the Island Tour boats, and purchase of one brand new 51-seater bus.
All city councilors approved it except for Councilor Redford Erfe Mejia who registered a “partial written objection”.
Supplemental AIP No. 2 identified 119 projects all totaling ₱182 million. (Leonardo Micua)
