Seven Dagupan swimmers set 15 new R1AA records
THE Balon Dagupan’s victory in the 2018 Region Athletic Association (R1AA) meet held last February 13-14 became certain midway after seven of the city’s powerhouse swimmers set 15 new R1AA meet records in the swimming event.
Janelle Alisa France T. Lin, a Batang Pinoy national record holder, set new meet records in freestyle events (Girls 13-17 age bracket) in the 800-meter (09:57.25), 400-meter (04:47.81), 200-meter. (02:17.73) and 100-meter (01:02.97).
She also won a gold medal in the 200- meter individual medley secondary and two more gold medals in the girls 400-meter freestyle 4×100 secondary and 200-meter medley 4×50 secondary.

She won a total of seven gold medals.
John Carlo G. Carulla set a new R1AA meet record (13-17 age bracket) in the 200- meter butterfly secondary (02:37.08).
Carulla also won two more gold medals in the 200-meter freestyle 4×50 secondary and 400-meter freestyle 4×100 secondary.
Sean Iverson C. Fabiana ruled in his favorite event with a new record meet in the 400- meter freestyle (04:32.42) and in the 800-meter freestyle secondary (09:44.77)
Fabiana also won gold medals in the 200-meter medley 4×50 secondary, in the 100-meter freestyle secondary, in the 200-meter freestyle 4×50 secondary and a silver medal in 200-meter freestyle secondary.
Jessie B. Cacapit broke the old record in the 100-meter backstroke secondary with his new record (01:6.97).
The 15-year old swimmer also won gold medals in the 200-meter medley 4×50 secondary and in the 200-meter backstroke secondary.
Paul Andrew B. Rioflorido ruled the 100-meter breaststroke secondary by setting a new record meet (02:35.28), and a new record meet (02: 07.00) in the 200-meter freestyle secondary with and another in the 100-meter breaststroke secondary (01:10.46).
He also won more gold medals in 200-meter medley 4×50, in the 200-meter individual medley secondary, and in the 400-meter long course freestyle 4×100 secondary.
Jeremy Carlo Jizmundo also made a new mark in the 100-meter long course butterfly secondary with a time of one minute and 4.43 seconds.
Paul’s younger brother Mark Bryan B. Rioflorido (elementary boys division) also set new meet records in the 200-meter freestyle elementary (02:20.53), in 100-meter backstroke elementary (01:13.76) and in the 400-meter freestyle elementary (04:59.37).
He also won two gold medals in the 100-meter freestyle elementary and under 50- meter backstroke elementary. (CIO/JCB)
