THE screening committee of the Mr. and Ms. Balon Dagupan has submitted the list of 24 candidates who qualified for the contest, one of the new features in the city’s month-long fiesta this December.

Composing the 12 finalist in the search for Mr. Balon Dagupan candidates are Mark Ericson M. Sison, 18; Kim Kenneth D. Cristobal, 22; Moses Joseph Gan, 18; Virgil Cendaña, 19; Makheos P. Qiambao, 22; Zyed Zoriel de Leon, 21; Patrick Jay O. Bancod, 20; James Lee R. Sabado, 21; Jayson Salvatiera, 21; Benedix Ramos, 23; Frenchworth Solano, 18; and Chrisdine A. Fung, 19.

For Ms. Balon Dagupan are Shaima Rashed Gad, 17; Karla Zabala, 19; Nicole Kate Valenceria, 17; Mariah Kate S. Chavez, 18; Grace Joy L. Ibasco, 19; Gerina Chasel J. Ancheta, 17; Colleen Iris B. Cayabyab, 17; Mary Angelic Dimalanta, 21; Pauline DV. Casilang, 17; Rose Ann M. Hortaleza, 17; Trixie Soriano, 18; and Princess Villanueva, 21.

The candidates will compete on intelligence, beauty of their faces and figure, poise and personality during the pre-pageant night at CSI Atrium on December 8 and during the pageant night on December 15 at the city plaza.

The candidates will serve as the city’s ambassador of goodwill and at the same time as advocates against HIV and domestic violence. (Joseph Bacani)
