Barangay kapitan arrested for gun, ammunition
BASISTA–Joint elements of the police arrested Barangay Chairman Danny Cayabyab, of Malimpec for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
A search warrant issued by Regional Executive Judge Jaime Dojillo of Branch 57 in San Carlos City dated August 22, 2017, was served by joint elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), 102nd Maritime Police Station and the Basista Police to Cayabyab at his residence.
Found inside his house were one Armscor Cal. 45 pistol, two magazine assemblies and 15 live ammunition for Cal. 45 pistol.
Another search warrant served by the lawmen in the adjacent house of Apollo Cayabyab, brother of the barangay chairman, yielded negative result. (Leonardo Micua)
