Water restored in 3 Dagupan villages

THE Dagupan City Water District finally restored water services in three villages in the city, ending the seven-month ‘waterless’ agony of residents and concessionaires.

Last week, Adelfo Valle, DCWD general manager, announced that, the new Lasip Grande Pumping Station with a capacity rate of 21.67 liters per second and with a pressure of 15 pounce per square inch, became fully operational.

It can be recalled that in mid-October of 2016, water supply and pressure weakened in Barangays Lasip Grande, Pogo Grande, Malued and in nearby villages because the sand of the Lasip Grande pumping station massive caved in.

Eventually, no water would come out from the pipelines during the day. Residents had to fetch water in containers at midnight till dawn where water pressure is high.

While the construction was on-going, DCWD had to supply water. (PIA-Pangasinan/ VHS)
