INSPIRED by the success of the city’s ‘Libreng Paligo’ program, the Procter and Gamble (P&G) Philippines launched its own complementary program, ‘Linis Lusog’, that stresses the importance of being clean and healthy through proper hand washing and oral care among school children.
The program is being piloted in Bacayao Sur, Pogo Lasip and Pantal.

P&G has been an active partner of the city in its ‘Libreng Paligo’ program initiated by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez that encourages children in the barangays to religiously observe and practice proper hygiene.
“Thanks to Procter & Gamble Philippines for bringing their Linis Lusog Program to our city. Indeed, P&G is true to its corporate social responsibility of promoting good health among children especially on the importance of being clean and healthy through proper hand washing and oral care,” said Mayor Fernandez during the program launch at the Pogo Lasip Elementary School where around 450 children were provided with hygiene kit.
Each kit contains a toothbrush, shampoo, soap and clean towel. The pilot schools have been provided with hand washing sinks to make sure its program becomes a daily habit of children.
P&G Philippines was represented by Anna Legarda-Locsin, P&G Philippine’s Communications Head; lawyer Jocelyn Gregorio-Reyes who heads the Legal Department of P&G Philippines and Hernani Hilario, P&G’s Sales District Manager.
The Department of Education Schools Division was represented by Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Lourdes Servito. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO)
