Ex-cop–pusher shot dead in encounter with Dagupan police
A FORMER policeman was shot dead when he reportedly decided to shoot it out with police operatives during a buy-bust operation on July 25 along Tambac-Melag in Barangay Pantal, Dagupan City.
P/Superintendent Christopher Abrahano, city police chief, identified the fatality as Vicente Moulic alias Enting, 57, from Barangay Maasin, Mangaldan, Pangasinan.
Moulic reportedly drew his 9 mm firearm after sensing that the poseur buyer is a police operative.
Abrahano said, Moulic was listed as a top drug personality in both Dagupan City and Mangaldan town.
The armed encounter happened in Moulic’s residence in Tambac-Melag here.
Moulic, was also assigned to Mangaldan Police Station (MPS).
Abrahano added that Moulic was initially dismissed for illegal drugs, appealed his case and was reinstated in service.
He, however, went absent on official leave that resulted in his dismissal from service.
Abrahano said Moulic was also in Counter Intelligence watch list in the Philippine Police Provincial Office.
Moulic’s common-law wife was already arrested earlier and is now behind bars for illegal drugs, Abrahano said.
Police operatives recovered one Armscor Cal. 9mm with deferred serial number, one magazine assembly loaded with six live ammunitions of same caliber, one fired cartridge case of caliber 9mm, one fired cartridge case of caliber .45, one deformed slug and one heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu.
“We are still investigating whether there are other cases filed against him”, said Abrahano. (Tita Roces/Dada Austria)
