Construction of roads and bridges resumed
LINGAYEN—Several road and bridge projects are simultaneously ongoing including the resumption of work on the Phase II of the Mangiranday Bridge between Dagupan City and San Fabian has finally resumed.
Pangasinan Second Engineering District Chief Rodolfo Dion said P49 million has been released by his head office to complete the bridge project till December this year under Phase II.
Dion said Phase 1, which consisted of the construction of the substructure and bridge foundation and funded at a cost of P40 million, was started in 2014 but worked stopped when the initial funding was exhausted.
“Funding was really slow in coming despite our persistent requests.” Dion said.
Also ongoing are the construction of the drainage system in Bonuan-Binloc,
the concreting of road shoulders and construction of protection wall in road shoulders in Binmaley, and the concreting of road shoulders from Gayaman, Binmaley to Lucao, Dagupan City.
Meanwhile, Dion announced that the Padilla bridge between LIngayen and Bugallon towns is now open to motorists and the San Jose Bridge in Lingayen is almost completed after a long delay caused by problem on the right of way.
He said he gave the contractor of the San Jose Bridge until July 23 this year to finish the project, noting that the delay of the project was caused mainly by the problem on right of way. (Leonardo Micua)
