THE three Resuello stepbrothers who were elected as mayor, vice mayor and councilor led the oath taking of new set of elected city officials Monday.

Mayor Joseres “Bogs” Resuello, Vice Mayor Julier “Ayoy” Resuello and Councilor Joshua Resuello, were sworn in to their respective offices administered separately by Executive Judge Hermogenes Fernandez of the Regional Trial Court here and Municipal Circuit Trial Court Judge Grace Gliceria de Vera, with other city councilors.

Their other stepbrother, re-elected Basista Vice Mayor Jolly Resuello, was not around during his brothers’ oath taking.

Both Joseres and Julier served three terms as vice mayor and mayor respectively. Joshua is a first time councilor.

The Resuello stepbrothers are sons of the late mayor Julian Resuello who was gunned down at the height of the election campaign in 2007. Julian was the running mate then of his son Julier aspiring for mayor when he was shot dead at the city gymnasium.

In his speech, Vice-Mayor Julier dedicated their victory to their dad.

Mayor Joseres, on the other hand, said, “ I know that our father, Mayor Julian Resuello, is looking down at me now and smiling.” (Tita Roces)
