ALAMINOS CITY–Another good news for this city’s public education sector.

A P4.2 million fund has been committed by the local government for the construction of a new building that will house the school division office as well as serve as working areas for teachers.

The fund, which is part of the city’s Special Education Fund, was made possible by the increase in the collection of real property taxes.

Mayor Hernani Braganza said the project has been on the drawing board since 2003, but limited funds prevented them from carrying it out.

The building, which will be located inside the Alaminos Central School campus, will have a conference hall and 10 offices to respond to the needs of both the educators and students.

The Special Education Fund also covers the expanded City Scholarship Program, Book Project, Wireless Internet Connectivity Project, construction of more school buildings and sports development program.

Braganza said he is aware that the teachers have been waiting for this project to be realized.

“Your constant prayers were finally answered and in few months, you will have your own building where you can work better to further enhance our city’s education system,” Braganza said

Dr. Renato Viray, city schools superintendent, hailed Braganza for his latest gift to the education sector.–EVA
