Security set for Dagupan’s Bangus Fest
THE Dagupan City Police Station (DCPS) has assured that security measures are in place to ensure the peaceful celebration of the forthcoming Bangus (Milkfish) Festival.
P/Sr. Insp. Joseph Sibayan, deputy chief of police, said a 200-strong force of police personnel from DCPS, provincial and regional public safety units will be deployed in event venues to check criminality during the month-long revelry.
“Over a hundred civilian volunteers will also be mobilized to augment local police units in their security operations,” he said, adding that police assistance hubs will be set up with medical and non-governmental organization volunteers.
He added there will also be as many as six checkpoints manned by provincial and city police.
The Bangus Festival is one of the country’s biggest and most colorful celebrations of local industry and culture. (AMM_PIA-Pangasinan)
