MALASIQUI—Some 20 upgraded breed of goats were distributed to members of non-government organizations, persons with disabilities (PWDs), barangay service point officer (BSPO) and cyclist farmers last Tuesday.

Jovelito Alamar, municipal agriculturist said the goats were in addition to the 48 cows distributed to the members of the same organizations in previous weeks funded under the bottom-up-budgeting (BUB) from the Department of Agriculture (DA).

Alamar said the project calls for the beneficiaries to give the first offsprings of the livestock to the local government and which will be distributed as well to the other members of their organization.

Mayor Armando Domantay Sr. said the livestock project was recommended by the members of the civil society group composed of the PWDs, BSPOs, farmer’s groups among others.

The recipients were chosen by the Department of Social Welfare and Development. (Hilda Austria)
