LINGAYEN— Last week, twenty-nine towns in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth districts received their respective multipurpose vehicles from the provincial government.

The Mitsubishi L300 units were turned over to the Liga ng mga Barangay (LB) municipal and city federation presidents during a blessing and turnover ceremony held at the Capitol Plaza on Wednesday morning.

Board Member Amado ‘Pogi’ Espino III, LB provincial federation president, who led the turnover ceremony, reminded his fellow village heads to use the vehicles for the sole purpose of providing public service particularly for disaster and response operations.

The project was in response to the provincial LB’s request in December 2014.

LB chapter president of San Jacinto town, Romulo del Rosario, expressed the group’s appreciation for the delivery of the promised units.

Last year, the 18 towns in the first and second districts were the first batch to receive their units.

The vehicles are registered under LB town chapters and said chapters are responsible for the vehicles’ registration and maintenance, said Espino.

Gov. Amado Espino Jr. said the project, is intended to help the barangays or the “frontliners of public service in their mission.” (Johanne Macob)
