Espino extols prov’l employees’ services, dedication
LINGAYEN – In what was his last Christmas party with the provincial government’s employees last week at the Capitol Plaza before he bows out of office in 2016, Gov. Amado T. Espino was profuse in thanking them for their support.
“It’s been an honor and pleasure serving our provincial government and our people. It was the best part of my life and a big challenge,” the governor said as he acknowledged their cooperation since 2007.
Mr. Espino, however, was emotional as he recalled how his detractors tried to block his efforts to deliver more for the province to the extent of tarnishing his own reputation as a public official.
He lamented losing the dedicated services of some officials as a result of the vicious assault on the integrity of the projects he launched.
The governor apologized and asked forgiveness from those he said, might have been hurt by events in the course of his governance.
“I want to tell you that all the impatience you have seen in me is simply because I want you to attend to small things. Let us attend to small things as small problems come from inattention to small details,” the governor said.
Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim, Jr., and Board Members Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III and Nestor Reyes joined the merriment and sang for the employees as well. (PIO)
