BINMALEY–The United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) and the Liberal Party (LP) will clash in a one-on-one duel in Binmaley, a first class town west of Dagupan.

Incumbent Mayor Simplicio Rosario is running for his second term of office under UNA in tandem with Councilor Edgar Mamenta who is running as vice mayor.

Rosario and his team went to the Municipal Election Office at 2:30 p.m. Friday, two hours before the closing of the filing period of certificates of candidacy (COCs) for all candidates.

Filing with him were incumbent Councilors Violeta Salazar, Urbano de los Angeles III, Vismark Valerio and Ellen Alipio.

Rosario and Mamenta will be challenged by Vice Mayor Pedro” Merrera Jr. and Councilor Mito Sison, who are running under the LP. Banner. (Leonardo Micua)
