UCAAP CHAMPIONSHIP

AIE COLLEGE Green Eagles started slow in the first quarter to yield by four points, 17-21, but increased its pace in the second and up to the last quarter to clobber the revved PIMSAT Dragons, 89-73, in the Universities Colleges Athletic Association of Pangasinan Basketball Championship held on September 1 at Dagupan People’s Astrodome.

The Eagles’ assault was spearheaded by Mangaldan son wily point guard Patrick Llobrera rifling a tournament high 35 points all done through fast breaks and perimeter shots while Jommel de Vera and Llobrera’s town mate Richard Santos contributed 19 and 18 points, respectively.

The Dragons after trailing by 14 points at the half, 30-44, never came closer to the gap and suffered its second consecutive loss sans win.

Only two Dragons’ players came in double figures with the high-leaping power-forward John Christopher Nival scoring a team high 17 and Jessie Mark Artales chipping in 13. (JAG, Jr.)
