P’sinan Chess Fest kicks off Sept. 12

CHESS enthusiasts and professionals are expected to converge the Pangasinan Training and Development Center at the Capitol Complex in Lingayen starting September 12 for the annual Pangasinan Chess Festival.

Consisting of four events, the festival will kick off with the 5th Gov. Amado T. Espino Jr. Chess Clinic which will run on Sept. 12, 13, 19 and 20. Graduates of the clinic can register for the remaining events of the festival for free.

On Oct. 10 and 11, the 5th Pangasinan Age Group Chess Championship will be conducted and is open to all players aged 20 and below.

The 5th Pangasinan Chess Championship will be held on Nov. 7 and 8 to determine the official chess champion of Pangasinan and open only to residents of the province.

Concluding the festival will be the 7th Gov. Amado T. Espino Jr. Cup held on Dec. 11, 12 and 13 and is open to all players regardless of age, title, rating and residence.

The festival is organized by Pangasinan Chess League (PCL) and sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP).
