German national commits suicide

URDANETA CITY– A 71-year-old German national committed suicide by hanging himself inside the family residence in Greenville Subdivision, Barangay San Vicente here on May 3 at about 11:20 a.m.

Found dead was Manfred Heyne who was found by his wife Lolita Suyat-Heyne hanging at the concrete fence at the southeast side of their house with a nylon cord looped around his neck attached to an iron grill of the concrete fence.

Lolita had just arrived home from Urdaneta City market when she saw her husband hanging by the fence.

The victim was rushed to Sacred Heart Hospital in this city by neighbors but was declared dead on arrival by his attending physician.

Superintendent Jeff Fanged, city police chief, said Heyne left a suicide note saying he was afflicted with an illness and could not accept it.

Fanged said there was no foul play based on their investigation. (Tita Roces)
