Skimboarding is back

LINGAYEN – Fans of skimboarding , the new adventure water sports introduced last year, will have a chance to learn more techniques during a free clinic and exhibition at the Capitol Beachfront from April 27 to May 1 as part of the annual Pista’y Dayat celebration.
The series of skimboarding clinic and exhibition will be held from 7-10 a.m. and 2-5 p.m. to be conducted by the Skim-Your-Heart-Out (SYHO) group.
“Skimboarding was introduced in Lingayen last year during the Pista’y Dayat celebration as another featured water sports activity, Provincial Population Office OIC Ellsworth Gonzales, event chairman, said.
The SYHO will invite skimboarders from Agoo, La Union who will provide lectures and clinics to the participants. Participants are advised to wear proper beach attire (shorts and shirt of any fabric except maong) and safety gears (goggles, elbow and knee guards, etc).
Skimboarding is open to all. Children below 15 years old should be accompanied by an adult/guardian who shall sign a consent/waiver form to be provided at the event site.
Slots will be limited per clinic on a “first come, first serve” basis.(PIO)
