Former Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco gave this advice to 118 newly- wed couples that joined the 2nd Kasalang Bayan sa Hundred Islands on Valentine’s Day here.

Cojuangco, who stood as one of their ninongs, underscored the importance of trust between the husband and wife for a lifelong union.

Cojuangco talks to the newlyweds about the secrets of happy married life.

Sharing his and wife’s, Fifth District Rep. Kimi Cojuangco, secret for staying power in their married life, he said they continuously love and trust each other.

“What is important is you trust each other as a result of being honest and sincere with one another,” he said.

He added that he and his wife remain as best friends, the way they did when they were still in courtship stage. He wished the same for the newlyweds.

He, with Mayor Art and wife Chloue (beside the mayor), offers a toast for a lifetime union.

Cojuangco, impressed with the preparations for the meaningful wedding celebration, said even the rich in the city would admire the kind of wedding the couples had at t`he scenic Hundred Islands.

“You are very lucky. This is possibly the most beautiful wedding I have witnessed,” he said.

He lauded the efforts of the city government led by Mayor Art Celeste to promote legal unions in the city.

He leads the releasing of red balloons to the air by newly married couples.

Cojuangco assured the couples he would act as real ninong of the couples by being ready and willing to help them in whatever needs they would have.

He wished them a lifetime and happy married life.

For his part, Mayor Celeste encouraged the couples to love and respect their wedded partners and to plan best for their families. He said there is nothing more rewarding and fulfilling in the life of a husband and a wife than to provide the needs of their loved ones and give them a comfortable and secured future. He also reiterated to the couples not to hurt one another, both physically and emotionally.
