CALASIAO—The Bureau of Internal Revenue District Office IV (RDO4) posted P2.6 billion collection last year, exceeding 2013 collection by 339.2 million.

Charmaine Dela Torre, assistant revenue district officer, however, said the improvement was still not enough to reach P1.7 billion target.

“We have a deficit of P155 million but we have the lowest deficit in the entire Region 1”, said Dela Torre. She said they are continuously implementing the “Run After Tax Evaders” (RATE) program. “We run after those who exceeds 30% of their gross receipt, who do not file Value Added Taxes and those who do not issue receipts”, she said.

Elma Gutierrez, chief of collection division, attributes the increase in their collection to intensified tax mapping, mission orders, surveillance and started its kick-off earlier than the usual schedule. (Hilda Austria/PNA)
