R1MC eyes solar energy as alternative source

THE Region One Medical Center (R1MC) will soon be tapping solar energy to support some of its operations.

It will son acquire its first ten-kilowatt mobile solar-powered generator that can L.E.D lights for eight hours to support emergencies or during calamities.

Dr. Joseph Roland Mejia, chief of R1MC, said the solar generator will be carried by the ambulance for the hospital emergency management service (HEMS) use.

He revealed that the eleven-storey hospital building of R1MC will be installed with 100- kilowatt solar panels to run the lights of the whole building. (Hilda Austria)
