Man hacks brother on Christmas day
UMINGAN—It was a bloody Christmas day for one family in this town.
In the morning of December 25, Lorenzo Estacio, a resident of Barangay Barat of the town, reported to the police that his brother Mauro was hacked to death by their elder brother Jaime, 51 years old.
Lorenzo Estacio from Barangy Barat, Umingan, Pangasinan reported that his brother Mauro Estacio, of legal age, married and a resident of same place was hacked with the used of an axe by their elder brother Jaime Estacio.
Jaime was 51 years old, single and a resident of the same place.
Initial investigation showed that at about 4:30 a.m., while the Mauro was sleeping inside his room, Jaime, who was reportedly drunk, suddenly entered the room armed with an axe and began hacking the victim several times.
Mauro sustained multiple wounds and was rushed at Umingan Community Hospital but eventually died while being treated.
Jaime was arrested by the responding elements of Umingan Police Station and murder charges have been filed against him. (Johanne Macob /PNA)
