Eight houses burned in Malasiqui
MALASIQUI– Eight houses were razed to the ground while another one was partially damaged by a fire in Gen. Luna St. here Wednesday afternoon.
SFO4 Gaudencio Apostol, chief of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Malasiqui Station, said initial investigation showed the fire started at 1:30 pm and quickly spread to nearby houses, all made of light materials.
He said faulty wiring may have been the cause but this will be confirmed by further investigation. The reported presence of firecrackers stored in one of the houses will also be looked into.
“There were explosions when we were putting out the fire”, said Apostol.
