NGCP’s new 100-megavolt ampere (MVA) substation serving three power distribution utilities will soon rise in Barangay Balingueo, Sta. Barbara.

Expected to be completed in September 2015, the drawdown substation will serve Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (CENPELCO), Dagupan Electric

Corporation (DECORP), and Pangasinan III Electric Cooperative (PANELCO III).

The P173-million project being constructed on a 7-hectare lot includes one 100-MVA transformer, power circuit breakers and accompanying substation accessories, a 69-kiloVolt (kV) and 230-kV switchyard, and a control building.

“Pangasinan is one of the provinces with high electricity consumption. Because of improved economic activities in the area, load growth is expected, said   NGCP President and CEO Henry Sy Jr.
