MedicKalinga continues serving Pangasinan

THERE’S no stopping the MediKalinga sa Pangasinan project of former Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco and Calasiao Mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay as it continues to benefit thousands of less privileged Pangasinenses suffering from cysts, hernias, cancers, harelips, including circumcision, among others, to avail themselves of free minor to major surgeries.
Cojuangco said Tuesday that their humanitarian project MediKalinga sa Pangasinan or “Salun-at Ti Umili” has accomplished its mission for minor surgeries in the first congressional district where some 1,000 indigent patients benefited from it.

The project, an all-expense paid for the patients (from transporting patients to hospitals/ clinics and back to their homes, laboratory examinations, surgery, medicine), was launched in August in Alaminos City.
The medical mission, composed of medical and surgical teams from reputable hospitals in Metro Manila, is presently in the second congressional district, is performing minor surgeries.
“So that’s just getting into gear now,” Cojuangco said.
Cojuangco said they have already advised residents in the third and fourth congressional districts that the mission will soon be serving their communities.
The mission will proceed to serve residents in the fifth and sixth congressional districts, upon completion the mission in the third and fourth districts.
Cojuangco said he hopes to cover the entire province by March or May next year and shall have performed 6,000 minor surgeries (1,000 per district).
The former congressman is thankful to the Barangay Health Workers whose invaluable services as front liners have been tapped to locate and assist beneficiaries.
Cojuangco and Macanlalay have been going around the province introducing themselves to the people through humanitarian projects such as the MediKalinga sa Pangasinan, after they announced their intent to bid for the top elective posts in the province in 2016 as running mates.
