1st Robotics Science Fair excite students
THOUSANDS of students from public and private schools experienced the wonders of robotics andTechnology during the three-day 1st Robotics Science Fair.
“I am very happy because we were introduced to the world of robotics for the very first time and I hope that in the future we can make our own robots too,” said Aljohn Vidal, a Grade 7 student of Wonderland School.
Students of the Dagupan City National High School Moses Visperas and Emmanuel Soriano were inspired by their first robotics experience that enabled them to participate in some of the demonstration games with the creators of the robots.
Mayor Fernandez thanked the DOST-SEI through Director Dr. Josette Biyo for promptly approving her request to bring the robotics fair in Dagupan and reiterated her offer to host this activity again next year.
Biyo bared that Fernandez was the only local chief executive in the entire country who went to her office and expressed interest in bringing robotics fair for the benefit of young people of Dagupan and stimulate their interests in science and technology.
The fair event gave the young Dagupeños a chance to learn about the latest innovations in science and technology from a variety of science exhibitors like Regulus Spacetech, Felta Multimedia, Thinklab, Philippine Foundation for Science and Technology, Intel Philippines, DOST Science Education Institute, Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino High School, Philippine Science High School, Pitogo High School, Rizal High School, Valenzuela City School of Mathematics and Science, Divine Word Academy of Dagupan, Pangasinan Universal Institute and Victorino Mapa High School.
Other activities in the fair included: Tagisang Robotics Demo Game, Science Film Screening, Robotics Training for Elementary and High School, Science Explorer Exhibit, Water Rocket Making and Training Workshop, and Water Rocket Launching Competition.(CIO)
