Pregnant mom arrested for qualified trafficking of minor

BINMALEY—The pólice here nabbed last week in Barangay this town a mother who is eight months pregnant for qualified trafficking.

Arrested based on arrest warrant issued by Presiding JudgeMaria Laarni Parayno of the Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, Branch 68, Lingayen, was Jennylyn Orate, 25, married. No bail was recommended for her release.

The case against Orate stemmed from a complaint filed by the mother of a minor who left their house and allegedly went with Orate in Dagupan City but failed to return and suspects it had to do with Orate fronting as a pimp for her daughter.

PO1 Esmeralda Ocampo, deputy chief of Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk, said Orate was brought to Don Mariano Versoza District Hospital in Lingayen for medical/physical examination and subsequently detained at the Pangasinan Provincial Jail.

The case was filed by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Dagupan City. (Tita Roces)
