PNP-PDEA ops yield 87 sachets of shabu

SITIO ALING RAIDED

IT was the second police raid long time coming in Sitio Aling in Barangay Pantal, a known notorious hotbed for illegal drugs distribution.

The search and seize operations that yielded 87 sachets of shabu were conducted by joint operations of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Dagupan City Police Station (DCPS), Special Action Force (SAF) and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) last October 28 in five houses in the sitio.

The search warrants were issued by Judge Caridad Galvez of Regional Trial Court Branch 43 against suspects Arvin Siapo, Joenas Garcia a.k.a. “Dimas,” Anting and Alyn Santos (father and daughter), Jimmy Cayabyab a.k.a. “Jimboy” and couple Mads and Repeat De Vera.

Adrian Albarino, regional director of PDEA said the operation was a result of the intelligence gathered from the sitio and extensive surveillance before implementing the search warrants. The search warrants were simultaneously served in the five residences.

Siapo and his father were arrested after finding 13 sachets suspected to contain shabu while Garcia and his companions were arrested when 12 sachets and drug paraphernalia were found in his house.

Spouses Mads De Vera and Felicidad Rullan as well as Jimmy Cayabyab, alias ” Jimboy” were not in their respective houses during the raid.

P/Supt. Christopher Abrahano, Dagupan police chief, said persons found with the suspects named in the warrants t persons were also detained for investigation.

Mark Carino, Nelson Tagulao, Ronnie Pugal, Nilo Malasan, Jony Achivida and Cielo Siapo were also detained as they are subject for investigation for being in the suspected drug den area.

Meanwhile, arrested in the area after finding the suspects in possession of sachets of shabu were Johnny Zamora, Rodolfo Ortiz, Jeffrey De Guzman, Roldan Tapang and Macarina Barmaceda were also arrested in possession of sachet of suspected Shabu.

“We are processing and verifying their profile since they are not from the area but they were found there”, said Abrahano.

The confiscated items were brought in the crime laboratory for further testing while the arrested persons were detained in DCPS until the end of verification process.

Albarino said the raid was the second search and seizure in Sitio Aling.

Meanwhile, two units of video slots or “Hataw” in the sitio were also seized by the authorities. (Hilda M. Austria)
