Candles used for information dissemination
EARLY visitors to the seven public cemeteries in Dagupan City on November 1were greeted by elements of the Dagupan City Police Station (DCPS) and given candles for a purpose – for their relatives’ tombs and to remember to call the police in case of emergency.
The 1, 000 candles had stickers with the logo and hotline numbers of the city police station printed on them.
According to P/Supt. Christopher Abrahano, DCPS chief, the distribution of the candles with stickers was part of the station’s efforts to make residents remember to call the police should they need help for any type of emergency.
The DCPS set up police assistance centers (PAC) in all the cemeteries on a 24-hour basis on All Saints Day and All Souls Day. (Hilda Austria)
