BTF is PNP’s ‘Best Local Chief Executive’
MAYOR Belen T. Fernandez was recently named this year’s ‘Best Local Chief Executive’ by the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Fernandez, who received the award last June 30 at PNP Regional Office 1 in San Fernando City, La Union, was commended for her “invaluable support to the PNP in implementing police community relations programs, projects, and other initiatives.”
Her administration was also cited for bringing the police closer to the people and for contributing immensely to the attainment of the PNP mission.

PNP Regional Director Roman A. Felix presented the special award during the 19th Police Community Relations Month celebration program.
Dagupan City Police Chief Christopher Abrahano thanked the mayor for her continuous support to the Dagupan Police in its fight against crime and other lawless elements.
“Because of the mayor’s enormous support, the Dagupan PNP is a consistent best performer in the province,” Abrahano said.
Dagupan also ranked highest among LGUs in Region 1 in terms of share of funds for local police based on the evaluation of the Department of the Interior and Local Government in Region 1.
The city government has already provided more than P4 million in funds to the Dagupan PNP.
Last June 30, the mayor turned over four brand new motorcycles purchased by the city government to the city police.
She assured her administration’s continuous support for the Dagupan Police, citing her request to the PNP Regional Office to provide the city with 50 additional policemen. –CIO
