8th most wanted criminal arrested

SAN FABIAN—Finally after ten years, a man charged for numerous rape cases and listed as the 8th most wanted person in the province was nabbed by the police early morning of June 15, 2014 at his residence in Barangay Poblacion in this town.

Joint elements of the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office (PPPO) and San Fabian Police Station (SFPS) nabbed 32-year old Eddie Prado, a resident of Barangay Tokok, San Fabian, by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued more than 10 years ago on March 30, 2004.

The arrest warrant, issued by Judge Rolando Mislang of the Regional Trial Court Branch 42 in Dagupan City, was for six counts of rape and with no bail recommended.

The arrest came a day after Philippine National Police chief Director General Alan Purisima came to the PPPO and ordered the police to launch a more aggressive campaign against loose firearms, illegal drugs, arrest of wanted persons and more focused operations in the entire province.

In a press statement, the PPPO said, “Expect more intensified and aggressive campaign against loose firearms, illegal drugs, arrest of wanted persons and more police focused operations in the whole province of Pangasinan in compliance with the directives set by General Alan Purisima,”

Meanwhile, P/Sr. Supt Sterling Blanco, OIC police director of Pangasinan, confirmed that the increase in number of checkpoints, Oplan Sita and other police crime prevention activities are in compliance with the chief PNP’s order for a “strong police presence” in the province.—Tita Roces and Johanne R.
