Then there were three
A LONGER “Napolist” has been published on media and it now includes three former representatives from Pangasinan: Rep. Amado Espino Jr., now Pangasinan’s governor, Rep. Jesus Celeste, now Alaminos City mayor, and Rep. Leopoldo Bataoil, re-elected representative of the 2nd District.
But then again, there were no specifics that could implicate the three and therefore the governor, the mayor and congressman are justified in vehemently denying their alleged involvement in the pork scam. They cannot be deemed guilty by a mere news item based on someone’s journal. What is more telling was the alleged claim of Benhur Luy that there was no SARO that could implicate the governor.
If anything should be considered damaging, it can only come from a report from the Commission on Audit based on verified and audited documents. As of today, we don’t see that happening. So for now, it’s all hot air and baseless speculations.
Hopefully all these would end soon and charges backed with evidence be filed against those who pilfered the people’s money. Everyone must get their day in court and until then, the public should remain discerning about all the buzz.
As Bataoil appropriately said:” Let justice take its course…”
Meanwhile, to keep one’s sanity in check, we suggest that you take everything else in stride as more twists and turns in this telenovela threaten to surface. We can expect more allegations and denials but the more interesting sidebar to all these would be to discern the source of all these and the agenda attached to them.
For now, consider the climate change aggravated by the polluted political air in our midst.

Selective naming?
UNTIL proven guilty, those implicated in the P10-billion pork barrel fund scam and the P900-million Malampaya heist are mere suspects. And they now number by the hundreds. That is why from the very start of this so-called Scam of The Century, the common gripe of Senators Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada and Revilla that they’ve been unfairly singled out from the bunch was valid. This has to be stressed, if not overly emphasized, once again amid the proliferation of “Napolists” being unleashed in wild abandon. Each would allegedly contain hundreds of persons that have allegedly benefited from the twin scams.
Was there really a sinister move to separate Enrile, Jinggoy and Revilla from the pack, with chief whistleblower Benhur Luy an unwitting, if not unwilling, accomplice as he initially withheld names of alleged perpetrators/beneficiaries of the crimes? What is this, selective naming?
The plot thickens, indeed.
