NO BLACK SAND MINING—Engr. Carlos Tayag, Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Director (4th from left), belies reports of national dailies that black sand mining is rampant in the Lingayen Eco-tourism Zone during a press conference at the Capitol Resort Hotel in Lingayen last March 12. Tayag issued the statement based on an MGB engineers’ report who conducted an ocular inspection in four barangays in Lingayen.
