FOUR countries from Asia and Europe have already signified their intention to send their students to  join the country’s first International Green Camp set on  April 24 to 27 at the vicinity of the National Integrated Fisheries Technology Development Center (NIFTDC) in Barangay  Bonuan Binloc.

The foreign participants joining the Green Camp, which will be part of the Bangus Fesrtival 2014 from April 1 to May , will come from the countries of Indonesia, India, Greece and Italy.

Mayor Belen T. Fernandez and City Schols Superintendent  Gloria Torres encouraged local  students and educators to join the activity chaired by  event coordinator Ma. Linda R. Ventenilla.

Ventenilla said the foreign participants are members of the Asia-Europe Classroom Network (AEC-NET), a program under the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) conceived in 1998, which has a unique structure that connects secondary or high schools in Asia and Europe.

Ventenilla added that the theme of the program ‘Clean and Green Environment, Our Global Assignment’ will involve the participants, mostly secondary students and teachers, in several activities that promote the protection of the environment like river clean up and mangrove planting in Longos, Bonuan Boquig.
