Alaminos City cycling on March 14
AFTER Calasiao, San Fabian and Binmaley, Mangaldan and Laoac, the next bikefest will be in the western area of the province and will be hosted by Alaminos City on March 14.
Dubbed as the “2nd Alaminos City Cycling Challenge”, the road battle will start and finish in Alaminos, passing twice the municipalities of Bani, Agno (partly) and Mabini with an approximate distance of 105 kilometers.
The bikefest will be run in two categories: 38 to 54 years old and 55 years old and above with cash prizes, trophies and medals up for grabs.
Meanwhile, visiting Manila cyclists topped both the Mangaldan and Laoac bikefest, surprising the partisan crowd and the favored Pangasinenses on March 2 and 4, respectively.
Marikina City-based Romeo Camingao used his sprinting prowess in the last 200 hundred meters, nipping his four breakaway partners — including three Pangasinenses, Mon Nicolas, Adrian Malanum, Hector Padilla, and his teammate David Perez — in a close mad dash to the finish in the Mangaldan Men’s Cycling Challenge.
In the Laoac race, Camingao placed second with colleague Joel Balucos winning the race in a convincing fashion, crossing the finish line all by his lonesome. —JAGJr.
