Bayambang LGU bikefest on Feb. 23
BAYAMBANG’S barangay chairmen and municipal officials will gather at the town plaza on February 23 to battle it out in a 25-kilometer bicycle road race as part of the launching activities of the town’s celebration of its 400th anniversary and foundation.
The race dubbed as “BayambBike”, initiated and organized by Mayor Ricardo M. Camacho who will also participate, will traverse some of the town’s 77 barangays through rolling hills.
“The bikefest is one of the launching activities of our quadricentennial celebration and we selected cycling as one of the highlights knowing that the founder of Philippine cycling and the father of the fabled Tour of Luzon, the late Atty. Geruncio Lacuesta was born and raised in this town,” said Camacho.
“We want to show to our constituents that cycling is one of the best exercises especially for the aging people,” Camacho added.–JAGJr.
