Gina de Venecia celebrates birthday with charity work
KEEPING with her annual tradition, 4th District Rep. Gina de Venecia celebrated her birthday this year with back-to-back four-day charity missions in her district starting last Tuesday.
The wife of former Speaker Jose De Venecia Jr. has been celebrating her birthday every Feb. 15 by distributing reading glasses to senior citizens and conducting medical and dental missions in Dagupan, Mangaldan, San Fabian, San Jacinto and Manaoag.
This year, she toured the public markets and she particularly noted the order and cleanliness at the Malimgas Public Market in Dagupan.
“I congratulate Mayor Belen (Fernandez) for the new look of the Malimgas Market. She is really doing something to make her city clean and beautiful,” De Venecia said.
At the same time, she called on Fernandez to also give more attention on the consignacion market to make it a little cleaner.
She also sponsored medical and dental missions, with the help of doctors and nurses from Region 1 Medical Center, where thousands of residents, mostly indigents, availed of of the free services and medicines.
