Holiday cheers for marginalized kids

LOS ANGELES, California –Some 50 marginalized children of Barangay San Vicente in Urdaneta City recently received imported toys, school supplies, candies and cash from The Global Urdanetians based in Southern California.

According to TGU President Lino F Caringal Jr., San Vicente was recommended by the Philippine Department of Social Welfare because it is the barangay that needs help most.

Caringal thanked the local Help the Kids Board Chairman Norma Torres Agulo and TGU Urdaneta-based coordinator Dr. Fe Ranada for helping organize the project.

One of the guests during the distribution was Marcelino Ordanza, the first Urdaneta resident to receive a scholarship grant from the Pangasinan Brotherhood – USA. He graduated recently from the University of Pangasinan.

The local TGU coordinators are Jeannie Hall, Vicky Gravela, Eduardo Pagador, Wreight Paris, Reynald Mamasig, Farcima Benitez-Sumera, Ma Lourdes Ramos Quimson, Sonia Fe Quesada and Danny Consolacion Rupsan and Ranada.

The other coordinators representing the HKB are Jose Nitura, Ret Sid Lapena, Rey de Vera. Rosie Sana and Agulo.—LJGalvez
