1 dead, 9 hurt in three-way collision

URDANETA CITY—One person died and nine others injured in a three-vehicle collision along the MacArthur Highway in Barangay San Jose here at 10 p.m. of January 15.

Involved in the collision were a Mercedez Benz driven by Peter Dominic Macaraeg of Pinmaludpod, Urdaneta City; a motorcycle driven by Jolet Rosario, 30, whose back rider Mary Ann de Guzman, who was eight months pregnant, died; and a motorized tricycle driven by Felipe Andrada, 25, with seven persons on board.

The Mercedez Benz and the motorcycle were heading towards the east direction while the motorcycle was coming from the opposite direction.

Investigation showed the Mercedez Benz first bumped the rear of the motorcycle and the impact sent the two vehicles to the opposite lane where the motorized tricycle was traversing.

Hurt were Renato Andrada, 48; Renato Andrada Jr., Delana, 23; Jeffrey Ayes, 35; Jeric Magallanes, 19; Roger Padilla, 39, and Rustom Padilla, 31, (not the actor) and Aljon Andrada, all passengers of the motorized tricycle.
