FOUR “grinches” who tried to steal the Christmas spirit in Dagupan by destroying the Christmas lights and decorations installed at the Quintos Bridge along A.B. Fernandez Avenue were arrested before dawn Thursday.

Arrested were Rex Malicdem, Jom Ferrer, Cyrus Gabis and Marthie Cabatbat, all residents of neighboring Calasiao town, according to Superintendent Christopher Abrahano, city police chief.

The four were caught in the act of destroying the Christmas lights and decorations, prompting private security guards to apprehend them and then called for assistance from policemen patrolling the area.

A case of malicious mischief had been filed against them in court.–Eva Visperas
