Open Chess Championship set Dec. 21-22

LINGAYEN—The 5th Amado T. Espino, Jr. Cup Open Chess Championship will be held on December 21 and 22 here at the capital town, a tournament open to all chess players nationwide.

To help prepare local players for this, the 3rd Pangasinan Chess Championship was held at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center (PTDC) here this weekend, November 9 and 10.

Organized by the provincial government and the Pangasinan Chess League (PCL), Inc., the tournament is divided into three categories: open, junior (18 and under), and kiddie (12 and under).

The tournament is exclusively for Pangasinenses, including non-residents with a Pangasinan lineage.
