LINGAYEN—The 5^th Amado T. Espino, Jr. Cup Open Chess Championship will be held on December 21 and 22 here at the capital town, a tournament open to all chess players nationwide.

To help prepare local players for this, the 3^rd Pangasinan Chess Championship was held at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center (PTDC) here this weekend, November 9 and 10.

Organized by the provincial government and the Pangasinan Chess League (PCL), Inc., the tournament is divided into three categories: open, junior (18 and under), and kiddie (12 and under).

The tournament is exclusively for Pangasinenses, including non-residents with a Pangasinan lineage.
