SERIOUS runners and students from Pangasinan and neighboring provinces are expected to join the fun run in Mangaldan on November 30 in conjunction with the celebration of Andres Bonifacio Day, a national holiday.

The marathon, dubbed “TakBONA Unity Run Mangaldan”, will have three categories: the 3K exclusively for students and the open 5K and 10K distances.

The event coincides with the birthday of the town’s chief, Mayor Bonafe de Vera Parayno.

Among those who will be participating are national team members Robeno Javier, Robinson Esteves of Urdaneta City and Jeric Buhian of Asingan.

Event chief coordinator Ajie Cabrera said the run is a prelude to the proposed First Mangaldan Duathlon Championship tentatively scheduled before Christmas or early next year.

No entry fee will be charged and t-shirts will be given for free to each of the runners. Winners will get medals.–JAG, Jr.
