Impostor voter caught
SUAL—There is now a new variation of the “flying voter.” The impostors are coming.
This scheme was discovered when a man who claimed to be a registered voter in Barangay Baybay turned out to be an impostor. It took an alert poll watcher to stop him.
The suspect, Salvador Badoria, entered the polling center at precinct no. 20A to vote, claiming to be one “Fernando F. Sampaga.”
As he was about to cast his vote, he was recognized by Marvin Igana, a poll watcher of Barangay Chairman and re-electionist Jose Gary Vaso, who reported the matter to Jennifer Santos, chairman of the Board of Election Tellers (BET) of Precinct Nos. 0020A and 0020B.
When challenged, the suspect was forced to admit that his true name is Salvador Badoria and that he was sent to vote for one Perfecto Tolentino, a candidate for Barangay Captain of Barangay Baybay Norte.
It was known at presstime who ordered him and or what consideration.
A case for violation of Comelec Resolution No. 9715 under Section. 261 (z), (2) and (3) of the Omnibus Election Code is now being prepared against the suspect.
