Suspected ‘witch’ shot dead
URBIZTONDO–A woman vegetable vendor who the police said was tagged by her neighbor as “mangkukulam” was shot dead in her house in the evening of Oct. 18 in Barangay Angatel, Urbiztondo.
The victim was identified as Delia Tapiador, 59 years old, married, vegetable vendor was shot by a still unidentified suspect who reportedly fetched water at the deep well beside her house.
The suspect and another unidentified companion fled on foot towards a road dike road leading to the west direction.
Recovered from the crime scene were two spent shells of a firearm of still unknown caliber.
Police said motive of the killing could be revenge as victim for the untold fate of another resident as a result of her allegedly witchcraft practice in her neighborhood.
