INFORMATION officers (IOs) of various government agencies in Pangasinan and members of the media participated in a seminar hosted by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) on the country’s economy.

Deputy Director Beta Cervantes of BSP-Dagupan branch said the briefing was intended update media partners about main factors and strength of an economy namely price stability, financial stability and efficient payment and settlement systems.

“Greater awareness and understanding of essential economic and financial issues help the public acquire the knowledge and develop skills needed to make well-informed   decisions and choices,” Cervantes said.

Engr. Bernard Caronongan of the Department of Public Works  and Highways  and current president of the Pangasinan Association of Government Information Officers, said the seminar was useful for IOs and the media in reporting on the local economy. (PIA1-Pangasinan/VHS)
